Spotify Wrapped: What We Know

Label Engine Articles, News, Tips

Spotify is gearing up for their annual social media buzz of a week, Spotify Wrapped. If you don’t already know, Wrapped is a chance for fans and artists to share their streaming statistics that they’ve clocked throughout the year. What does this mean for artists and how can they capitalize on it? Read on to unlock the (not so secret) keys to having a successful Wrapped.

When is Spotify Wrapped?

Spotify Wrapped 2022 doesn’t have a set release date, but based on years past, we can assume that it will most likely be the first week of December. However, that doesn’t mean you can’t prepare.

How to Prepare for Wrapped 2022

Spotify is encouraging artists to think ahead and they’ve provided a “Wrapped Soundcheck” to help you make the most of the opportunity. One new and notable feature they are adding this year is an optional 30 second video where the artist can thank fans for their support. This video will only be shown to top fans and must follow these rules: “no music, singing, or lyrics; no explicit content; no logos or brands; and no added text, graphics, or filters”. This is a great opportunity to connect with your audience on a personal level. The deadline for a video submission is November 18th, so don’t miss this one! Upload your video HERE.

The holidays are all about giving back. With Wrapped, you’ll be able to use Fan Support to collect some end of the year tips or rally your troops to donate to a charitable cause of your choosing. You can read more about Fan Support HERE.

Have some up coming shows you are excited about? This year, Wrapped will be showing personalized concert recommendations to your top fans. Let your fans know when and where you are performing so that they can celebrate a year of success with you! You can do this by listing your concert and shows through one of Spotifys partner sites. Just make sure you check your profile to make sure the dates and locations are right! Here’s a link on how to get your shows listed.

Lastly, it’s a good idea to get your artist page looking sharp. Update your profile picture from your latest photoshoot, create a playlist with your favorite jams (don’t forget to add your own!), and get that newly written bio up for the world to read.
