Adding / editing a release

Label Engine Distribution

To add a release start by navigating to – Distribution > Add Release
From this window select the label you want the release to be on from the ‘Label’ drop down menu.

You can only choose labels that WE have provided you distribution access for.

Once you have chosen a label you may start filling out the release details for the track.

  1. Select Release type: Single / EP, Album / Compilation or Mix. Album / Compilations must be a minimum of 10 tracks or 30 minutes long.
  2. Set the catalog number for the Release. This number must be unique for the selected label.
  3. Type in the release artist’s name and release title.
  4. Fill in release notes if needed.
  5. Upload artwork for the Release. (Artwork must be a square image a minimum of 1400 x 1400 pixels.)
  6. Set planned Release date. (Releases must be submitted for distribution a minimum of 2 weeks before their release date and 4 weeks for Itunes.)
  7. Set the UPC for the release. If you have your own UPC for the Release you can enter it, otherwise leave it as ‘AUTO’ and we will create one for you.
  8. Setting a GRid* number is optional, if you do not have one leave it blank.

*GRid provides a system for the unique identification of “Releases” of music over electronic networks.

After all the information is filled out correctly click the “Add Release” button.

Editing a release

Once a release has been added you may edit it by navigating to the distribution overview page. To do this simply click the distribution link on the navigation bar.

From this page you will be able to see all your distributions and release dates.

To edit one click the ‘Edit Release’ (or ‘Review Release’ if it has been submitted for distribution) link to the far right of the name. This brings you to the edit page where you may edit any information on the release.
