It’s been a good week for new music, and we’re starting off with the fine details and dark synths of Von Gold’s ‘Defectio’. Aptly named, ‘Defectio’ pumps rebellion and proper German fire through ominous, pensive bass and hard-edged synths. A strong first release for Understated Recordings; big kudos to the team for the musical direction they’re taking! Also featuring this week: lilting piano-infused drum & bass from Redeyes, a subtly explosive offering from Skit, and bouncy tech house from Cazztek, E.R.N.E.S.T.O & Hunter Reid. Joey Dale returns with a new vision in ‘Under My Sheets’, 2birds breaks genres, while Zomboy and Knodis deliver two different interpretations of dubstep.
