We are very excited for a week full of music, as usual we have a lot of great releases from our talented partners available this week. As hard as it was to narrow it down to only a selected few releases, it was a job someone had to do.

1) MitiS – Living Color EP [Born Records]  | Buy on iTunesBuy at Beatport

We start our journey with the classical trained pianist from Pennsylvania that has been taking the Electronic Dance music scene by storm with a string of quality EPs and tours. His relentless work ethic, his versatility and experience in composition combined with his “I’ll take the risks nobody else wants to take” attitude is the perfect recipe for success.

Jumping from Trance to Drum & Bass and Electronica, the “Living Color” EP is not subject to imprisonment of what “EDM” should sound like these days and thats what we love the most about this EP. It defines any rules set by the standard music world, it doesn’t chase an specific sound and it feels rejuvenating for your ears… it is just great music.

2) Apashe – I’m A Dragon (EP) [Kannibalen Records]  | Buy on iTunesBuy at Beatport

We take our journey from Pennsylvania to Montreal, where the Brussel’s born Producer/DJ known as Apashe now resides and where he crafted what is arguably one of his best releases to date: I’m A Dragon (EP).

The Trap explosion in the United States was quickly followed by the rest of the world where the genre blossoms in countries like Russia, Japan, France and Sweden. Noone’s light shines brighter right now than Apashe’s, he had a monumental 2014 with songs like “No Twerk” and “Black Gold” but “I’m A Dragon” solidifies him as the future leader of the scene.

The lead single is “I’m A Dragon” featuring Sway but “Kannibalen” is a great side B compliment to the package so be sure to check out both!

3) Dolfeels – Broke That Night EP [Innocent Music Deep]  | Buy Exclusively at Beatport

We jump from Trap to Minimal music and as “backwards” as that sounds it is actually an interesting change of style and mood, we might have just discovered a new transition here (ha!).

Dubbed by Beatport as one of the labels to watch for in 2015, Innocent Music has had the Minimal scene on a choke-hold for the better part of the last few years, all the way from Slovenia. The growth of the genre in Europe continues to reach new levels of popularity and it is showing no sign of slowing down, it is also starting to catch up in South America, where underground music is king.

The new release from Innocent Music is by the hands of Dolfeels, a fairly new but talented producer from France that names Loco Dice, Richie Hawtin and Marco Corola as his music influences. His style reflects a new wave of Minimal music that is influenced by the rhythms of tech house but combines it with the darker feels of techno. Definitely a great alternative if you are looking for something new to listen to!
