Meta is excited to share that users can now change or add audio to previously published Instagram feed posts or carousels, without having to delete and re-upload them! Whether you want to swap in a trending sound or simply update the vibe of a post, you can now do it directly from the edit screen. Your engagement (likes, comments, shares) stays intact.
How it Works:
- Go to your Instagram profile
- Tap on a feed post with audio
- Tap the “…” menu in the top right
- Tap “Edit”
- Tap on the audio/music section
- Browse or search for a new track
- Select your new audio and save
Important Notes
In terms of attribution, the old song disappears from the attribution line and the new one appears going forward. Since these are feed posts, they don’t surface on audio pages so there is no change reflected in audio pages.
