Spotify is rolling out Verified badges across their platform to artist profiles that meet their criteria for authenticity, as part of their on-going goal to build fan trust and support artists. The platform is also launching a new artist details section in beta to display information such as release history, playlist placements and touring activity across all profiles.
Please note, as this feature begins to roll out over the following weeks to months, not all artists will receive a badge immediately. This does not mean the artist will not become verified, as verification will happen on an ongoing basis over time.
how verification works:
The Verified by Spotify badge indicates that an artist profile has been reviewed and meets Spotify’s standards for authenticity. The Verified badge will appear next to artist profiles and next to their name when searched.
Criteria:
- Consistent listener activity and engagement over time
- Good standing with Spotify’s platform policies
- Indications of a real artist behind the profile:
- Identifiable artist presence on and off-platform
- Concert dates
- Merchandise
- Linked social accounts on artist profile
