How to Schedule Spotify Clips for Your Next Release

Label Engine Announcements, General, News, Updates

Spotify Clips are short, vertical videos (up to 30 seconds long) that allow artists to connect with their audience directly on the platform. These clips can be linked to your artist profile, specific tracks, or albums, giving fans a more engaging experience.

Creating and Uploading Spotify Clips

To get started with Spotify Clips, follow these steps:

  1. Prepare Your Video
  • Create a vertical video between 3 to 30 seconds long.
  • Ensure a minimum resolution of 1280×720 pixels.
  • Confirm you have the rights to any included music or content and comply with Spotify’s content policy.
  1. Access Spotify for Artists
  • Log in to your Spotify for Artists account.
  • If Clips are not yet available for your account, you may need to join the waitlist as the feature is still in beta.
  1. Upload Your Clip
  • Navigate to the Video & Visuals tab or select Create a Clip on your Home tab.
  • Click Upload Clip (on the web) or Add Video (on the mobile app).
  • Follow the prompts to upload your video, add a caption, and tag the relevant track or album.

Scheduling Clips for Upcoming Releases

To maximize the impact of your new music, you can schedule Clips to go live on release day.

  1. Follow the upload steps above.
  2. Select your upcoming release when prompted.
  3. Choose the option to have your Clip go live when your song or album is released.
  4. Your Clip will become visible on Spotify the same day as your release!

You’ll see a clock icon next to scheduled Clips, indicating their go-live date. If you need to edit or delete a Clip, go to the Video & Visuals tab, select your Clip, and update its caption or remove it.

Ideas for Your Next Clip

Not sure what to post? Here are some creative ways to use Spotify Clips to engage your audience and grow your fanbase:

  • Announce Upcoming Releases: Build anticipation by teasing your new song or album, encouraging fans to look forward to the release date.
  • Take Fans Behind the Scenes: Share studio sessions, songwriting moments, or the inspiration behind a track to give listeners an inside look at your creative process.
  • Introduce Yourself: A short, engaging intro about who you are and your music can help new listeners connect with you and explore more of your work.
  • Highlight Collaborations: Feature the artists, producers, or songwriters you’ve worked with to cross-promote and expand your reach.
  • Showcase New Merchandise: Present your latest merch items to fans, driving interest and potential sales.

Why Use Spotify Clips?

Unlike social media stories, Spotify Clips remain available as evergreen content. They help artists engage with fans, tell stories, and drive more streams—all within the platform where listeners are already discovering music.
