Canada’s “Anti-Spam” law and what it means to you

Label Engine News, Updates

As of July 1st, 2014 CALS is requiring businesses and entities to obtain an express “Opt-In” or implied consent to send commercial electronic messages (CEMs), including emails and certain types of social media messages.

There are several exceptions for businesses/entities delivering this emails outside of Canada, as well as the intent of the email (if you are not selling anything within your emails or coupons/offers, you are likely ok).

Whether you are directly impacted by this law or not, you should educate yourself on this matter to avoid any potential issues, specially if you send anything to recipients in Canada or sending out of Canada.
