As you may or may not know by now, Beatport is launching a streaming service and moving their digital download store to the “Pro” version. The new site is not officially launched but they have sent us beta accounts for our labels to test the system, verify their catalog and brand their pages.
Within your label account, under “Distribution Alerts” you will find the user name and password for each label you manage under your account. The verification and branding is done on a label per label case so be sure to login and organize all of them. (Premium Distribution labels only)
Beatport is still updating and tweaking parts of the system and introducing new features as they receive feedback so if you have any please feel free to send it our way and we will pass it along. We have been discussing this new initiative with some of you and here are some of the few common FAQs we have received.
1. Will Beatport pay per stream and/or monetize the content?
Yes, think of Spotify and Soundcloud for example.
2. Will we be accounted through Label Engine as usual?
Yes, business as usual.
3. Can we update the username and url assigned to us?
Yes, thats something they will introduce very soon.
4. When will this new site launch?
No date has been set in stone but it is coming very very soon.
5. Can you get me an account for my artist?
Not at this time, not sure how they will handle artist pages yet.
