It’s a beautiful thing when a song maneuvers from one genre to another, weaving together a\u00a0completely unique tapestry. One could say that the concept of “genre” has become almost\u00a0irrelevant in a modern music landscape because of the ability to borrow from so many influences, and it is usually the genre-bending artists that go on to influence the next wave of sub-genres and trends. This week’s top track, “Kick It”, from Flavours (off of Westwood Recordings) borrows from all over the map, using soulful instrumentation over a chunky mid-tempo groove and a hip hop beat to create one funky tune. This single is a taste of what’s to come as the Canadian producer\u00a0finishes recording his next EP.<\/p>\n
