Melodies That Bridge The Gap Between Soul, Funk, Hip-hop and Electronica

Label Engine Fresh Produce Playlist

What’s a better way to start your weekend than with some new jams, from us especially for you?

This Friday, dip into some smooth and vibey bass from Shanti & Toka and Street Ritual, deep psy-trance courtesy of Martines and Hungry Koala Records, heavy dubstep/trap fusion from Crizzly & Cursor from Bassrush Records, and much more.

Our top track this week, “Push On (feat. SKNOW)”, comes from Cheshire’s new album, “Smokescreens & Somersaults” – released today on Westwood Recordings. As Westwood puts it, the track and album carry “a message of empowerment reinforced by compelling vocals and upbeat melodies that bridge the gap between soul, funk, hip-hop and electronica.” Cheshire also incorporates live instrumentation throughout, giving the track a refreshingly authentic sound.
